About Me
I began my journey as a Counsellor with my Masters' in Social Work. I worked with key youth-led organisations in Bombay who were at the time working on social justice and right-based initiatives for underprivileged youth, women, and other vulnerable communities. I later went on to complete my LLB and practice as a Lawyer in the Bombay High Court, and eventually in the Dhule District Court. During my time in Bombay, I worked at the Arthur Road Jail and other lockups in Bombay offering free state-provided legal representation for undertrials (through the Prisoners Rights Project), as appointed by the Bombay High Court.
My many years of experience, working with people in distress and people facing systemic hardship had already allowed me to hone my counseling skills learned during my Masters' before I refreshed my skills with more formal training in Client-Centered work. I have offered Counselling services to clients in Private Practice for more than 20 years now, initially from my home office in person (in Dhule), and now primarily online since the pandemic. I enjoy my online work, as it connects me to clients from across geographies, and simultaneously allows me to continue caring for other parts of my life.
Outside of Counselling, I enjoy engaging with Interior Design and spending time leveling up on my current favourite phone game. At present, I'm reading more about neurodiversity in mental health so that I can offer more informed and holistic care to my clients.
