Hello! I am Surama. I am a trained Counsellor with over 30 years of work experience in the fields of Mental Health and Social Work. I've worked with individuals, groups, and communities in addressing a variety of mental and emotional health concerns. 

I currently work online with individual clients who are keen on getting in touch with their authentic selves and wanting to enhance their overall quality of life. I am deeply committed to supporting my clients in leading more joyful and meaningful lives that resonate with their goals and core values.

I follow a Client-Centric and Strengths-based approach in which I combine my training in Cognitive therapy and other therapy modalities. I strongly believe in compassion and advocate for the same. In my counselling work, I work alongside my clients as they analyze their life situations, understand their thoughts and emotions, and discover their problem-solving abilities.

In my years of practice, I've worked with a number of individuals, couples, and families wanting to resolve conflicts (within themselves and with others), find meaning and purpose, reconnect with their true selves in a more accepting way.

I aim to create a safe and compassionate space in which my clients can feel heard and cared for, as we discuss the difficulties they may be struggling with, and figure out the path of resolving them together.

I do not claim to be an expert in your story. You are the expert of your own story, as you have lived it. My training allows me to support you in your journey, and assist you in coming up with strategies to achieve your goals - for your life, yourself, and your relationships.
